Because AmaWaterways also gives its own $250 per person military savings, the two stack together. On a typical European river cruise, that often adds up to $800 to $1,500 or more in savings per cabin, on top of whatever sale Ama is running that week.

Yes! AmaWaterways’ Military Savings program gives active, retired, and veteran service members a choice of:

• $250 per person off any AmaWaterways river cruise (Africa Safaris & Wildlife Cruises excluded). This one is combinable with Ama’s other promotions — and with our discount.
• 2-for-1 cruise fares on select 2026 and 2027 sailings (double occupancy; not combinable with other Ama promotions).
• A reduced 10% single supplement for solo travelers, in place of the 2-for-1 offer, on eligible sailings.

Who Qualifies for AmaWaterways’ Military Savings?

Active duty and retired military members and veterans with a valid military ID or discharge certificate (such as a DD-214). The savings apply to new individual and group bookings.

AmaWaterways Ships and Staterooms

Ama’s fleet is made up of intimate, boutique-size ships with heated sun-deck pools, fitness rooms, and walking tracks. Most staterooms run roughly 170–235 square feet with French balconies or Twin Balconies, and suites are larger still. Ama’s newest ships, AmaNubia and AmaRudi, are the latest to join the fleet.

There are no inside cabins on a river cruise ship, so every stateroom has a window on the river.
