How much is our Military and Veteran Discount on Celebrity cruises?

It is anywhere from 5 to 40% less than Celebrity’s lowest rate. It will always be at least 5%. And there are some select sailings for which we have a large discount of up to 40%.

Does Celebrity offer a military discount?

Yes! It is $25 per person for inside and ocean view cabins, and $100 per person for balconies and suites. However, Celebrity is unclear about which sailings this applies to. It sounds like it applies to all sailings, but then, it gives a list of sailings that only includes about 500 of its 1800 future sailings. Who qualifies for Celebrity’s military discount?

Active personnel currently serving in the Canadian National Defense; United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard or Reserves. Proper identification in the form of a United States Uniformed Services WHITE Identification Card for U.S. military personnel, and a WHITE N.D.21 Identification Card with a Red Canadian Flag displayed for Canadian National Defense personnel, must be presented at time of check-in.

Retired from any of the divisions listed directly above. “Retired” is defined as A) enlisted personnel or officers with a minimum of 20 years of service, B) medically retired, or C) 100% disabled. Proper identification for those classified in category A or B must be in the form of a United States Uniformed RED (Reserve retired personnel) or BLUE (Active Duty retired personnel) Identification Card. Proper identification for those classified in category C is a United States Uniformed TAN Identification Card. Retired Canadian National Defense personnel are eligible and must possess a green NDI-75 card (retired personnel). All forms of identification must be presented at time of check-in. Veterans with an Honorable Discharge serving a minimum of 2 years, or 6-months in an active war zone, in any of the United States service divisions listed above. Proper identification in the form of a DD 214, plus a current photo must be presented at time of check-in.

Spouses of actively deployed military personnel are eligible to book one stateroom as long as the eligible spouse is occupying the stateroom. This rate also applies to all other guests traveling in the same stateroom. Spouses of deceased military personnel are also eligible for the military rate. As proof of eligibility, spouses must present the Pink or Tan Dependent Military ID upon check-in.

All guests traveling in the same stateroom are eligible to receive the military rate. No additional staterooms, other than the one that is occupied by the military person is eligible for the military rate. Spouses, parents, in-laws, children or other family members or friends are not eligible for the military rate without the eligible military person occupying the stateroom.

While Celebrity ships are the same size as the other big cruise lines (holding an average of 2,000 passengers), Celebrity’s luxury and style are in a class of their own.

Celebrity succeeds in setting a higher standard with lots of little “tastes of luxury” that include: welcome champagne and mimosas, cold towels and free sorbet poolside, expanded dining options like a sushi cafe, sunset yoga and pilates classes, and more.

Celebrity was the first to create a park at sea with their “Lawn Clubs” — a green grassy half-acre where guests can hang out and look out over the high seas. The only drawback: it’ll make you miss walking your dog.

All about Celebrity Cruise Line’s kids’ programs

Although Celebrity is a luxury, sophisticated cruise line, they have an extensive kids’ program geared to five separate age groups supervised by experienced youth staff. The onboard youth center for ages 3–11 is called the Fun Factory, with activities from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. including gaming technology, sports, crafts, music, karaoke, treasure hunts, theme parties, movies, and more.

Babysitting is available anytime for an additional fee. Parents can dine kid-free every night thanks to the kids-only Dinner Party, where kids are fed and fully supervised from 5 to 7 p.m. nightly.

Celebrity’s kids’ program is always innovating — currently featuring go-pros for teens, parent-child dance parties, Xbox stations, and an Autism-friendly program.

Children’s entertainment is free and organized by age group:

• X-Club: 12–17 years old
• Ensigns: 9–11 years old
• Cadets: 6–8 years old
• Shipmates: 3–5 years old
• Babies: 6 months–36 months old
